Debbie Curling has been a paralegal with the firm’s Real Estate Division for 20 years.
Debbie works with builders in site development, lot “take down,” builder-lender financing, construction draws, clearing title and the final out-sale to the purchaser of the new home.
Debbie drafts legal documents through each step of the development and construction process including those connected with the lender’s financing requirements. She oversees and manages the purchase of the home by the buyer, insures contract requirements are melded into the closing documents, communicates with the buyer’s lender, orders and reviews the title search, insures the title requirements are met, orders the survey if required, and prepares the documents for the purchasers’ closing and settlement.
Debbie is literally there from the purchase of the “dirt” through the construction of the home and the sale to the buyer.

Monetta Ross (Moe) is well known in her association with the law firm of Basnight, Kinser, Telfeyan, Leftwich & Nuckolls, P.C. Joining the firm in 1983 as the receptionist, Moe strived to undertake more responsibility and embrace additional duties in furthering the goals and vision of the firm. Her willingness and dedication earned her a position in the Real Estate Division as the Post-Closer in 2003.
Moe receives every real estate file following closing and manages that file through the firm’s document retention period.
Upon receipt of the file, Moe reviews the file and performs a quality control audit. Once audited, she scans the file to an electronic format for storage, prepares the executed and notarized lender’s documents for attorney certification and their return to the lender, prepares the Deed and the Deed of Trust for transmittal to the court for recordation, and disburses all funds connected with and arising from the closing. Moe receives all incoming documents from the court following recordation and insures that all title insurer requirements are met. Any post-closing issues that arise are initially investigated by Moe for attorney oversight and resolution. In addition, Moe prepares deeds requested by affiliate companies.
Moe remains versatile in her employment with the firm and is always assisting in many other aspects of the firm’s practice.

Debbie Dunn has over 25 years experience in the real estate industry. In addition to being a seasoned loan processor, Debbie is also a Licensed Underwriter and Notary.
Debbie reviews lender requirements and prepares legal documents required for closing and settlement such as deeds, powers of attorney and affidavits. To insure a timely and smooth closing Debbie orders the title search, reviews the documents received from the title examiner, and clears any issues that might affect the conveyance of good title. In addition, Debbie communicates with the buyer’s lender, and prepares all documents and meets all requirements established by the lender. By thoroughly managing the file from its inception through closing, Debbie insures all requirements are met.
Her priority is maintaining open lines of communication with our clients, the lenders and the realtors involved in every real estate transaction. Debbie’s vast experience in the real estate industry provides her the advantage of understanding the needs of every buyer, every seller and the realtors who entrust their clients to us.

Annette Dunaway
Annette Dunaway provides courier and title updating services to the firm and the Real Estate Division. Deeds, Deeds of Trust and other important real estate documents require recordation in the Circuit Court in which the real estate at issue is located. Annette couriers those documents to the courthouse and updates the title prior to recording the documents that must go to record. Annette insures that nothing has been recorded in the court that would in any way interfere with the conveyance of good title to the buyer of the property. She checks for judgments, taxes, mechanics liens, wills and other sources to insure the title is clear. If something is discovered that would in any way affect title, those issues are reported and resolution is undertaken. If nothing is found or – once resolution has been satisfied, Annette records the titling documents to finalize the real estate transaction.
Annette provides these contract services to the firm after a tenure with our firm as a loan processor. As such, Annette brings to the table a vast array of experience in the services she affords our clients.
